Spring is finally here!

After what has felt like an endless winter of long, dark nights and cold weather, we all couldn't be more ready for spring – and what better way to welcome the return of brighter days than with gorgeous postbox toppers!

To celebrate spring and the upcoming Easter weekend, crafters across the country have been putting their crochet hooks and knitting needles to good use to create beautiful yarn postbox toppers.

The toppers are intricately decorated with spring flowers, dozens of Easter chicks and even Mother Goose. They're brightening up high streets across the UK and such a lovely creation to work on if you've learned the basics of how to knit and how to crochet.

This gorgeous Easter scene popped up in St Jude's in Plymouth and was spotted by @_our.devon.life on Instagram. It featured an Easter basket containing the Easter bunny and newborn chicks and surrounded by daffodils.

The postbox toppers spied up and down the country are so full of character – just like these adorable crochet toadstools on one posted by @myownmanicure on Instagram. The googly eyes are the perfect finishing touch!

Mother Goose features on this charming postbox topper spotted by @old.bag.on.a.bike on Instagram. She's surrounded by crochet Easter chicks, eggs, rabbits and seasonal flowers.

There are some beautiful spring-themed postbox toppers to find as well, like this one posted by @charny123 from Sheffield on Instagram. It's decorated with crochet flowers and a bumblebee and is such a colourful addition to the street!

Bumblebees are a common theme on postbox toppers this year, with a hive featuring on this one in Port Sunlight on the Wirral, posted by @portsunlightvillagetrust on Instagram. We love the crochet flowers decorating the edge of the topper, too.

Although easily removed, without permission yarn bombing can be considered illegal. If you want to create your own yarn bomb tribute, it's best to seek permission first.
